City of Aliso Viejo
Final day to get discounted rate for Relay for Life

Today is the last day to get the discounted rate of $25 to participate in the July 17-18 Relay for Life of Aliso Viejo at Grand Park. The registration fee goes up to $75 tomorrow for the event that benefits cancer research.

Relay for Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs. During the event, teams take turns walking or running laps. At nightfall, participants light hundreds of luminaries in a moving ceremony to honor cancer survivors and remember those who lost their battle to the disease.

Relay For Life offers something for everyone - from the newly diagnosed and caregivers to friends and long-term cancer survivors.

Teen Center summer camp program kicks off this month

The South County Teen Center's annual summer camp program kicks off Monday, June 28.

The camp, which is geared toward young teens in middle school (ages 11-14), includes trips to the beach, amusement parks and an array of fun-filled activities. Local teens will also grow in their social development by participating in community-service projects.

Since the South County Teen Center moved up the street to the Temple Beth El campus at 2A Liberty in February, teens have been enjoying an outdoor basketball court, picnic area and grass field.
