Operation Holiday Homework a success
|
This holiday season is a bit brighter for members of the Aliso Viejo Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley thanks to their hard work and the generosity of others.
On Saturday, 151 club members from Aliso Viejo and the local area redeemed earned homework points and purchased gifts for themselves and family members as part of Operation Holiday Homework.
The program is designed to reward members for their efforts during the holidays. Several businesses including AT&T, Ink Studios, Disney Store, Disney, Geneva Church and Cox Communications along with City Hall employees and community members contributed new, unwrapped toys to the program.
Saturday's event was a jolly affair, as club members got their photo with St. Nick before shopping for gifts, which catered to all ages.
Volunteers from Cox Communications, Geneva Church, Wing Nuts, the Aliso Viejo Steering Committee, City Hall and others contributed their time and efforts to the fun-filled event.
The Aliso Viejo Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley is located at the Iglesia Park Community Center at 24671 Via Iglesia. The club enables members to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.
