Tsunoda to serve as Mayor, Cave as Mayor Pro Tem

When the City Council reconvenes in January, Council Member Phil Tsunoda will serve as Mayor and Council Member Carmen Cave will serve as Mayor Pro Tem.

The council members were selected for the posts by their colleagues during the City Council's annual reorganization Wednesday. The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem serve a one-year term.

This will be the first mayoral stint for Tsunoda, who has served on the council since being appointed by the City Council in May 2007. He has spent this past year serving as Mayor Pro tem. Council Member Donald Garcia has served as Mayor this past year.

Cave served as the City's inaugural Mayor in 2001 and also served in that role again in 2006 and 2007. She would assume the duties of the Mayor in Tsunoda's absence.

The council meets the first and third Wednesday of the month in Council Chambers at City Hall, 12 Journey. The Dec. 16 meeting was canceled due to the holidays.

Council agendas are posted on the City's Web site at www.cityofalisoviejo.com.
