More than a dozen animal rescue groups will bring loving dogs seeking new homes to the 15th Annual DAWG Walk & Pet Faire on Saturday, June 27 at Mission Viejo's Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center at the Village Green.
The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center, which services Aliso Viejo, is partnering with Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) to host the fun-filled family event that includes an impressive display of K9 Athletes in Action, pet contests and pet and wildlife exhibits.
Folks will have the opportunity to adopt a new pet during the event that includes a pristine walk along the Oso Creek Trail and the Pet Faire, featuring local businesses, animal rescues, booths, entertainment, music, raffle prizes, refreshments and much more. Proceeds benefit the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center at 28095 Hillcrest. The facility has been serving Aliso Viejo residents since January, when the City transferred animal services from the county to Mission Viejo.
"DAWG spent $75,000 last year to provide extraordinary medical care for the shelter's pets," said Sharon Cody, president of DAWG, the Mission Viejo shelter's nonprofit that raises funds for animals' medical procedures. "People can help our orphaned animals by attending the DAWG Walk and Pet Faire June 27."
Advance registration is $25 per person; $30 the day of the event. There is no charge to visit the Pet Faire. The event is from 8 a.m. to noon, with registration beginning at 7 a.m.
To register, visit DAWG.org or pick up a registration packet at the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center.
