Annual Street Fair takes place Saturday, May 16

The Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce, along with its community partner, the City of Aliso Viejo, will host a Street Fair in the Aliso Viejo Town Center on Saturday, May 16. The event will include live music, bounce house, face painting, a classic car show, food and Chamber business booths.  Admission is free.

Community retailers and exhibitors will have booths along the main thoroughfare of the plaza between Opah's and Ritz Camera.  Booths will offer something for everyone including massages; haircuts and styles; pampering services; chiropractor evaluations; health and nutrition information; sample exercise classes; home services; banking and financial services; jewelry; and much more.

Event sponsors include Cox Communications and Hoag Health Center.

Street closures on tap during May 25 marathon

The City of Laguna Hills Memorial Day Half Marathon & 5K on May 25 meanders through Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods and Laguna Niguel.  Several streets around the Laguna Hills Mall, Laguna Woods Village and Paseo de Valencia will be affected from 5:30 to 8:30 a.m.

Motorists crossing Alicia Parkway will experience traffic delays from 6 to 9:30 a.m. Toll road fees have been waived  for the detour from 7 to 9:30 a.m. to help residents who need to cross Alicia Parkway. 

Normal north and south traffic patterns on Alicia Parkway will remain in place during the event.  Residents who live in the area near Aliso Creek, Aliso & Woods Canyon Park, Wood Canyon Drive, AMWA Road and Knollwood will experience street closures and should plan on alternative routes on the morning of the event.

Motorists are asked to be patient and drive safely. Roads will reopen after the last runner passes or when it's safe to do so.
