City of Aliso Viejo
Town Center Trail Loop improvements underway

Construction is underway on the Town Center Loop Pedestrian Enhancement Project, which is meant to improve the pedestrian experience around Town Center.

The work includes installing enhanced pavement, trail maps, signage and monuments at 13 locations on Aliso Creek Road and Aliso Viejo Parkway between Enterprise and Pacific Park Drive.

Construction at each location is expected to take about two weeks, with the entire project expected to be completed by the end of April. The Town Center Loop Pedestrian Enhancement Project is being funded by federal funds under the Transportation Enhancement Activity.

Officials say the enhancement project will complement the area and provide residents, professionals and visitors alike with another amenity for exercise and leisure strolls to enjoy for years to come.
Construction bids sought for street-rehabilitation project

The City is accepting construction bids for a street rehabilitation project that will help extend the life of Aliso Creek Road.

The project, which will be funded through Prop 1B monies, calls for adding two inches of new asphalt along Aliso Creek Road from Eastwing to Aliso Viejo Parkway to prevent further deterioration of the busy street the county built two decades ago.

The work, which is expected to begin in May, also includes striping and installing new traffic loops. The engineer's estimated construction cost is roughly $650,000.

Bids for the work are due to the City by 3 p.m. March 31.
