First Friday Gallery Crawl: October 5, 5-8 pm
Two plein-air painters' friendship and their long-distance collaboration are yielding a joint exhibition at the gallery where it began. Katherine McGuire and Christine Apostolina Beirne, who worked together at the Buenaventura Gallery a decade ago as office manager and marketing manager, respectively. Then McGuire moved to the Bay Area. About 18 months ago the artists began meeting for three- or four-day plein-air sessions at locations in both areas. (More)

Baggenstoss presents her recent paintings in watercolor and oil, and says the challenge of her theme was "to create statements that work with everyday games that we know." Subtitled "You Don't Bring Me Flowers Anymore" refers to the psychological aspect of the games people play.
