Greetings!

Travels undersea, overland, and into the imagination; these are the views offered by our September solo artists. And a yearly favorite, the BAA Watercolor and Aqua Media Open Competition (cosponsored by the California Gold Coast Watercolor Society) is opening soon -- entries accepted until September 10.

Our galleries are an ever-changing opportunity to see and appreciate what others see. For more information on all of these exciting events, read more below or go to our website at BuenaventuraGallery.org.

"The Sea and
Everything In It"

Thru September 8

First Fridays Gallery Crawl:

September 7, 5- 8 pm

The title "The Sea and Everything In It" was taken from a verse in the Bible, Psalm 98:7, "Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!" In the Bible the sea is a symbol for many things, the unknown, all of mankind, etc. This show hopes to convey not only the artist's love of the ocean and the lifestyle around it but also humanity's need for a relationship with its creator. This show uses games we all might recognize from our youth to express the many layers of human feelings and interaction -- be it good, bad or both at the same time. Incorporating the use of game boards or game symbols, Baggenstoss explores on canvas, the humorous and dark topics of life's trials and tribulations.
