| Changing Seasons, Changing Light |
|
Greetings!
The sunlight is acquiring that autumnal slant, illuminating a hemisphere heading into winter. Light, color, shadow, form -- composed by the artists' eye and expressed by the artists' hand. Our BAA artists want to show you the world they see, their slant on what we see every day along the beach, in the forest, across the table from a friend. Come enjoy their vision.
There's always something new to see, and several venues to explore -- Buenaventura Gallery, Harbor Village Gallery, and Community Memorial Hospital. For more information please visit our website at buenaventuragallery.org. |

Dahlia Riley
"Places, Faces and Memories"
Thru Oct. 8, 2011
First Friday Gallery Crawl: Oct. 7, 5-8 pm
Color is the dominant drive and inspiration for Dahlia's paintings. She is constantly torn between the desire to paint abstractly, and the desire to convey figuratively one of the images whose beauty haunts her, or a facial expression she'd love to capture. So many "Places, Faces and Memories..." and never enough time. (more)

He likes to get new and unseen perspectives of recognizable locales. He also paints figurative scenes, mostly of surfing or our ocean culture. Another area of extreme interest is rusty machinery in a rural environment, old cars, trucks, tractors etc. All of these subjects will be on display with new paintings for the upcoming solo show.
