"Eclectic Stone"

May 24-June 18

"Eclectic Stone" is a celebration of the diverse nature of Dammeyer's stone sculptures and of the many sources that inspire his work. Expect to see multiple types and colors of stone, each revealing the artist's vision of the image within. "Eclectic Stone" will showcase realistic, stylized and abstract sculptures: forms inspired by humans and animals and forms reflecting the organic and fluid curves and textures found in nature. More.

"Journey"

June 21-July 16, 2011

Reception: Sat. June 25, 4-7 pm

First Fridays Gallery Crawl

Friday, July 1, 5-8pm

JOUR-NEY [jurnee] (noun): 1.  trip somewhere; 2.  process of development, "a spiritual journey".

The inspiration for Brown's new work is a story, brought to life in a limited edition art book, and written by her. It describes a scene that typifies human journeys. According to Brown, "I am enticed to convey in images my dreams and life journeys. I use printmaking in all its forms to illustrate and explore these scenes." Brown is known for the simplicity and depth in the fine art printmaking she creates. In this collection she includes narrative factors with symbolism connecting the imagined or real paths we take on our journeys. This is her second solo show with Buenaventura Art Association.

May 18-June 27

Opening Reception:

Friday, May 20, 5-8 pm

Kitty McGinnis & Nancy Hodge

"Cowgirls, Horses & Landscapes ... Oh My!"

June 29 - August 8, 2011

Artists' Reception: Friday, July 8, 5 - 8 pm

The philosophy for the Dual Show was to combine Nancy's interest in women, horses, and Native Americans with Kitty's studies of western landscapes and to share them with friends old and new for their enjoyment. Kitty feels amazed, nourished and rebalanced after walking with her camera in these landscapes and hopes to share those feelings with her photographs. Nancy uses humor and whimsical images to remind viewers of people they know and how the art work relates to them, hopefully putting a smile on their faces.
