Greetings!
Time to spruce up the Buenaventura Gallery and make it shine for our 25th Annual Open Competition. 2011 will bring you 12 months of solo exhibits, special competitions and member group shows at both galleries, along with upcoming exhibits at the Community Memorial Hospital. There is no end to the fantastic creative output of BAA's talented members.
We are a nonprofit cooperative whose goal is to present to our community the excellence in artistic endeavor that we see every single day in the work our members show at our galleries. For more information please visit our website at buenaventuragallery.org.

Blacklight Galaxsea is a ticket for a real good time. A blast from the past or a sneak peak into the future, this is how we step into a world of imagination. The neon and fluorescent colors are displayed under blacklight to feel the full effect of the glowing energy illuminating from paintings. "FIGURE"January 19 - March 7, 2011 Reception:
Friday, Jan. 28, 5-8 pm In March 2010, Valdez, Norman, and Danielson, won awards in the Buenaventura Art Association's 4th Annual Collegiate Student Art Competition. These three artists were students at California State University, Channel Islands. Their group show, FIGURE, is a multi media compilation of works exploring humanity from the artists' perspectives of physicality, the range of human emotions, and spirituality. Viewing this exhibit is meant to stimulate different reactions in its viewers, including puzzlement, surprise, humor, wonder, inquiry and understanding.
