Greetings!
Nothing is more unique or personal that a gift of original art, whether it is displayed on a wall or pedestal or worn as personal adornment. It carries with it the giver's message of caring, as well as the intention and skill of the artist who created it. The Buenaventura Art Association offers fine art and fine crafts at both our galleries. Our Artisan Store at the Harbor Village Gallery specializes in fine craft gifts that include jewelry, ceramics, fiber arts and more. Our non-profit artist cooperative has been here since 1954 as a showplace for local artists, and a resource for our community. Come in and see what we have in store for you.
For more information on these and future events, please visit our website at buenaventuragallery.org.

Janet Black"Synthesis: New Works in Collage"Meet the Artist: Friday, Oct. 1: 5-8 pm Ventura First Fridays Gallery Crawl
Look once and you see a composition of colors and textures harmoniously creating a figure. Look twice and notice the medium of numerous papers from a handful of origins, torn with grace and skill, and reconstructed into values of light and shadow. Step in closer, nose to nose with the artwork and see the words of lyrics, psalms, poems and philosophies that elevate your awareness of peace, calm, introspection. Black's layers of collage are merged with impressive painterly quality. Her united bits and pieces form her "big picture". (Click here for more.)
