AT THE BUENAVENTURA GALLERY 700 East Santa Clara Street Ventura, CA
Pedro de la Cruz "She Is So Strong Willed" May 1-22, 2010
"She is so Strong Willed" is an exhibit of color and confidence.
The recent works of de la Cruz are his homage to women of courage and
strength. His canvases, proudly adorned with bold and beautiful women,
have modern angles and feminine curves.
From
powerful to passionate, de la Cruz's subjects flirt, seduce and cajole
with their postmodern compositions, intelligence and grace. The artist
has a defiant disregard for standard rules of painting. A bohemian
dogma which when paired with his talent for addressing various
viewpoints in two dimensions, gives de la Cruz a freedom to express the
unique beauty of his muse. (More ... ) Coming Soon:
Patti Post "Coming into Fullness"
May 25-June 19, 2010 Reception: Sat., June 5, 4-7 pm
Let the beauty we love be what we do.- Rumi
What
Post does, is what she loves and it is beautiful. Creating for Post is
more then pen on paper, ink to press and brush strokes on a canvas. "To
create is to be alive," says Post, a dogma representing the skills and
beliefs she has learned, shared and taught for a life time. Her prints
and paintings share the significance of the numerous lives she has
touched and accomplishments she has made. (Click here for more info) |
