Message from the Chairman of the Board

Enrique Schon Pic

Our neighbor to the south is holding an extraordinary celebration in honor of its 200th anniversary of Independence from Spain, and the 100th anniversary of its Revolution that toppled Dictator Porfirio Diaz.

The Bicentennial of Mexican Independence, Día de La Independencia, was celebrated on September 16th and the Centennial of The Mexican Revolution, La Revolucíon Mexicana, will be celebrated on November 20th.

Our two sister cities, San Diego and Tijuana, are participating in many events and Vibra Bank is joining in on the festivities.

Together with our partners, The International Community Foundation, and the Mexican Consulate-San Diego, Vibra Bank is a proud co-sponsor of Mexico's 2010 Bicentennial Celebration.

Highlighted among the many projects and events are museum exhibits, a series of conferences and symposiums, a Mainly Mozart concert, and a Noche Mexicana event at the Museum of Art in Balboa Park.

The cities of San Diego and Tijuana share many common economic development interests and business projects.   The eyes of the world look to our bordering cities to learn about bi-national enterprise in environmental sciences, telecommunications, manufacturing and tourism.
The cities are linked not only through business, but also through history, language, culture, arts, and humanitarian efforts.

So join Vibra Bank in commemorating this milestone.  Here's to sharing a rich past and a promising future.

Enrique R. Schon

 The International Community Foundation
The International Community Foundation (ICF) seeks to increase charitable giving and volunteerism across U.S. borders to benefit overseas communities and nonprofit organizations.
The Foundation spearheads coalitions on a variety of causes and represents over 1,000 donors with diverse international interests.  The majority of the Foundation's charitable giving is focused on assisting registered public charities in Mexico and Central America.
Working with ICF affords donors the ability to focus on their passion, leaving ICF to handle the administrative business.
