| THE MODERN TOPCOAT | |
With the extreme weather we have experienced this year, there are predictions that a cold winter season is in store. Now is the time to consider upgrading your winter topcoat.
I see lots of otherwise well dressed gentlemen wearing raincoats in cold weather. While that old trench coat adds a layer, it is not as appropriate or attractive as a nice cashmere topcoat. Think of how a sweatshirt serves its purpose during outdoor exercise, but you wouldn't wear it to a holiday party; you would choose an alpaca or cashmere sweater instead.
We offer some fabulous options in custom overcoats. Two of our most popular styles are illustrated, the classic full length topcoat and the 3/4 length coat that falls just above the knee. My person al favorite is the 3/4 length coat in either a fly front of four button model. This coat is less cumbersome that a full topcoat and versatile enough to wear over sweaters for less formal occasions.
We can create custom topcoats in cashmere and cashmere/wool blends in a wide variety of solid colors and some great herringbone fabrics too. FOUR TIE TIPS

Creating a winning tie and shirt combination doesn't have to be tricky or time-consuming. Use these four tips and get on with your day.
1. A matter of size: Your collar and tie work together as partners. Size them to complement each other.
2. Focal point: Make sure the combination pleases the eye with a bit of contrast. Wear a lighter tie with a dark shirt or a darker tie with a light-colored shirt.
3. Mix and match: Keep it simple by choosing color tones that coordinate easily with each other.
4. No prima donnas: Avoiding extremes in tie prints goes a long way to making your ensemble professional yet relaxed.
