July 31 - Sept 6. Opening Reception, July 31, 6:30-8:30 pm.

dog days

A special thanks to our underwriters for this exhibit: South Haven Animal Hospital, Phoenix Road Animal Hospital and Bangor Animal Clinic. Please let them know you appreciate their support of the arts!

Dog Days has been designed by guest curator Kathy Catania and features the work of 24 Michigan artists.

There will be two interactive displays:
Dog Photo Wall - The community is invited to share and post pictures of their pets. Rescued and deceased pets will receive special recognition.

Stage Name Wall - This is where you take your first pet's name and the street name of where you lived as a child anc vombine them into a "stage" name. For example my (Marie) first dogs stage name would be King Warringham! How about Fifi Phoenix, or Copper Apache. . . This will be fun!

Events during the exhibit include:
Aug 15 - Al-Van Adoption Day, 1:00-4:00 pm
Aug 22 - In Dogs We Trust - The Art of Grooming (creative dog grooming live display and Melanie Vincent from Rover's Retreat will be on hand for grooming tips), 1:00-4:00 pm
Aug 29 - Dog Trick Workshop with Kelly Elvin from Tip Top Tails, 1:00-4:00 pm
Sept 2 - Dog Stone Painting at the City Marina, two sessions, 10:00-11:30 am and 1:00-2:30 pm

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the artwork and the events will be donated to Al-Van.

Thank you to our business partners for these events: Rover's Retreat, Tip Top Tails and Al-Van.
