Greetings!

Things are hopping!
  • This past Sunday at 5 pm we launched our third Home Church, and will need to launch a fourth very soon.
  • We're beginning to ramp up for our public launch on Sunday, October 10, with plans for a pig roast, a picnic for our friends, and a door-to-door publicity effort.
  • We are praying together for some key break throughs from the Lord.
This email is very important, so, read on!

Rejoicing always,
Paul

*Important: If any changes need to be made regarding village times or locations, please e-mail aleyse@greatoakschurch.org.
Preparing for Launch!

We're preparing for our "official launch." Of course, in many ways, we've already begun. But by October 10 we hope to have all systems go - including nursery, young ministry, prayer ministry Launchteams, security, outdoor and indoor signs, and the like.

Here are a few important dates to get on your calendar.

Sunday, September 19 - Great Oaks Pig Roast. We'll begin around 3 pm and eat around 4:30 pm. We'll build the theme around the beginning of fall, and have food, fun activities and some together time of singing. We are designing this to be a low threat, fun, relational activity to which you can invite unchurched friends and neighbors, and others interested in Great Oaks.

Saturday, September 25 - GOC Literature Distribution. We're meeting in the parking lot of West Middle School at 9:00 am. We're then breaking up in teams of two to distribute 3,000 Great Oaks Door Hangers. These will be clear plastic bags with one our accordion fold brochures, a letter from me, and a invite card.

Sunday, October 10 - Public Launch. This will be a time to invite friends and neighbors to Great Oaks. If each one invites one we can double our attendance. That's our goal. So, plan to come and be in prayer about who you should invite. It's OK to bring people sooner, too.

VillagePraying Together

Many of you may not know that we have two regular prayer meetings at Great Oaks.

Friday morning prayer
When?  7:45 to 8:30 am
Where? Bean and Leaf Coffee Shop in downtown Rochester (corner of Main and University).
What? We sit together in small groups of 3 or 4 and pray in a conversational tone of voice, praising God, interceding for our area, and praying for Great Oaks.

Sunday morning prayer
When?  9:15 to 9:45 am
Where? Just before our Sunday Service begins we meet in the "Lifestyles Room". When you enter the auditorium just go straight across the room and out the other side. The room is on your left.
What? We pray for Great Oaks, for the Sunday Service, for those who are leading or teaching, and for newcomers.

Join us sometime soon!
