Nearly 3 months have passed since I sent out our last prayer update. Much has happened since early August. Life has been hopping.
What's happening?
We had a wonderful Bradford family reunion in New Hampshire in early August. The Lord also opened the door for us to purchase a lovely home! So in late August we moved from Warren to Rochester Hills, and then dived into a full schedule in our church planting work.
This fall at Great Oaks we've been holding Sunday evening services every other week, I've been teaching at two of our "Villages" each week. We've been working hard to develop our leadership. We now have a dozen key roles filled--Lead Pastor (me, of course), Executive Director, Prayer Director, Reach Director, Children's Ministry Director, Bookkeeper, Worship Team Leader,
Hospitality Director, Technical Director, and two Village Leaders. The one critical role that still needs to be filled is Youth Ministry Director. We have been amazed at God's provision!
Important presentation tomorrow!
Here's a key and urgent prayer need. Tomorrow the Lead Pastor at Kensington Community Church, the mega-church in Troy that we've been working with, will be introducing and endorsing me at their two midweek "Wednesday Experience" services. We will have a table set up to meet people following each service, and then hold three interest meeting over the next week for those who want to know more. We are praying and believing that through this presentation we will be able to add several more families to our core group. Please pray for a great response! We have 30 adults in our core team and hope to double that by the time we do our public launch on March 7, 2010.
On a personal note, both our daughters are flying in from New York City on Thursday to visit. We are so excited to have them with us and to be all together as a family for a long weekend.
