Pray for and with Your Family
In America the first week of May is Christian family week the 2nd through the 8th. Mother's day is May 8.
The best gift for your family is prayer - pray for him/her or them daily. When you bring a person before the Lord your love is demonstrated in a manner no card can ever do. Talk with God about every member, lift concerns and joys and make petitions on their behalf. Stand with God for your family.
For me there's a difference between signing my name to a card and personally speaking to the Lord on behalf of my loved ones. Cards for most people last a day while prayer is eternal. Praying for every member is one of the most important acts of being family.
One day a teenage girl overheard her father praying for her. "Jesus, you know how much I love my daughter. She's growing up, with grown-up choices to make. Lord, I pray she will always know you are with her watching over her giving her freedom, responsibility, and your grace. Guide her choices provide her with wisdom. She has a good and loving heart. May it beat in rhythm with yours for all people. Protect her and guide her and draw her close to you and hold her in your loving arms that throughout eternity she may know true love.
Some future day may we be reunited in heaven with you. Amen.
My prayer in part: "Holy God send the pure light of Jesus Christ to cover each one of the family letting only good come to them and only good come from them. Keep them safe and faithful to you. Amen"
May your children know you are praying for them and with them forever in God's love. Randy

2010-11 3rd Quarterly Report
Income Statement

Pledged and Non-pledged giving

*projected includes pledged and projected non-pledged giving
2010-11 3rd Quarter Summary Comments
Giving for the 3rd quarter dropped significantly compared to the 2nd quarter. Pledged and non-pledged giving was 8.2% under plan leaving us 3.6% under plan for the fiscal year that began July 1, 2010. At the end of the 2nd quarter, we were able to celebrate financially fulfilling a significant number of facilities needs and our Apportionment obligation for the 2010 calendar year.
The Finance Team officially ended the Raise the Roof Campaign April 1. This campaign was successful in collecting nearly 100% of the cost of the new Sanctuary roof.
As we move into the 4th and final quarter of the 2010-11 fiscal year, we can not rest on our accomplishments of the first three quarters. To date, we have only been able to fulfill 11.3% of our 2011 Apportionment obligation. In addition, the Trustees have requested funding to replace the roof over the office/Fellowship Hall portion of the EducationBuilding. (More information on this project is found in another article.)
Please continue to make every effort to fulfill your financial pledge. Mt Moriah's ability to continue the outstanding mission work you help accomplish in our church, community and globally with the gifts of your time, talents and financial support depends on it. |

Investing in the Future
Urgent Need Requires Immediate Attention
After a successful campaign to raise funds to reroof our Sanctuary and finish a number of maintenance projects, the Trustees thought they would be able to take a break from any major projects for a while.
However, the Trustees have learned that the leak in the Parlor ceiling of the Education Building is not something that can be patched successfully. The roof needs to be replaced and it must be replaced now. While the timing of this is unquestionably unfortunate, the Trustees consider this an emergency situation. Postponing this project will not only result in further damage to the facility, but will jeopardize the missions that are housed in this building, including but not limited to:
:
· United Methodist Women Rummage Sale
· Purls and Chains
· Bible Study classes
· Ark of Learning lunch and activities
· Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts
· Angel Food Ministry
· Neighbors Being Neighborly Breakfast
· United Methodist Men Fund Raising Dinners
Estimates from three roofing companies have put the projected cost at $40,000. A generous donation of $5,000 has been received as well as some smaller targeted donations, but in order to complete this project, we will need to get a loan and pay interest on that loan. This project is targeted to be completed in May.
It is critical that we invest now for the future success of the Mt Moriah missions. Any gifts of any amount targeted at reducing the debt for this emergency project will be gratefully appreciated. Contributions should indicate "Fellowship Hall Roof" in the memo line of the check or marked on the envelope.
