Are You On the Food Map?
Saturday, May 19, 2012 the City of Green will host its second "Living Green" workshop entitled "Grow Local, Eat Local." This workshop is designed to promote awareness about local food; growing and eating your own; or supporting local farmers and food artisans. As part of this special day, we are creating a map that reveals where local food artisans can be found, and what makes them unique. For instance, did you know that Grille 39 doesn't have a freezer? Fresh meat from Sugarcreek, Ohio is delivered three times a week to this local restaurant, so that everything is as fresh as it can possibly be. What's your story? Do you grow, sell or promote local food products? If you'd like to be part of our food map, contact Sarah Haring, Community Development Administrator at 330.896.6614 or sharing@cityofgreen.org.
