Exciting Announcements
In case you haven't already heard, January was a very exciting month for the Diebold Site PlanCity of Green.  First, Diebold, Inc. announced that the City of Green is its preferred site for its new global headquarters.  The company plans to build at the Union Square site, along I-77 in the same park as the new Akron General Health & Wellness Center.

During the State of the City Address, the Mayor announced that an additional grocery store, Acme Fresh Markets is planning a new store in Green near the Massillon Road and Graybill Road intersection on the Heritage Crossing site.  Many Green residents have asked for additional grocery options.  The development will also feature additional space for retail or restaurant options.

Construction on both of these projects will most likely begin in 2013.  For more information, click here
City Update
Got Rain Barrel?

Thank you to all of our businesses who generously donated "sign time" to help us create a "buzz" about our upcoming rain barrel workshop. More than 20 businesses - from day care centers to gas stations - enthusiastically jumped on board to partner with the City of Green to deliver our first "living green" message.

Nearly 100 people have registered to learn about rain barrels and how to install this innovative rain harvesting tool at home - and there's still time and room for more.
