Construction Season Nears End

Pardon our mess, but as winter approaches, the Arlington Road/619 Signconstruction barrels will soon disappear.  Contractors have nearly completed work on two major projects this summer despite unpredictable weather conditions and heavy rain.  The widening of Arlington Road from September Drive to I-77 and the Caston Road resurfacing and addition of hike/bikes lanes are nearly complete.  These two projects will see final layers of asphalt applied in 2012.  We've also made some improvements to Arlington Road south of Boettler Road.  We appreciate everyone's patience as we make these improvements.

As usual, please support our local business who are located in these construction zones.

Guess who Recycles Carpet?

Barrington Carpet

3602 S. Arlington Road

Akron, OH 44312

330.896.4141

We have been asking what your business does to be more "green" and several Green businesses have provided us some great feedback.

Did you know Barrington Carpet recycles used carpet?  While their cost remains the same, they feel its a great thing to do for the environment.  Did you know:

  • 4 to 6 percent of all waste in landfills is carpet?
  • Every 1,000 square yards of carpet recycled saves 4,500 pounds of carpet from the landfill and 440 gallons of oil.
  • Carpet pad can be renewed into new carpet pad
  • Products made from recycled carpet include highway sound barriers, road construction filler products, auto parts, septic and storm water system components, just to name a few.

Thanks, Barrington, for doing your part to protect our planet and being a "green" business in Green, Ohio.
