Greetings!

The City of Green would like to remind you that the 2010 US Census forms have been mailed to all residents.  We would like to encourage you and your employees to complete the 2010 Census forms and mail them back in a timely manner.

An accurate Census is important for a number of reasons, including making sure you are represented fairly in the US House of Representatives.  Census information affects the number of seats each state occupies in the US House of Representatives. Census data is also used to advocate for many causes, rescue disaster victims, prevent diseases, research markets, locate pools of skilled workers and much more.

An accurate Census count also help communities advocating for better infrastructure and providing public services such as fire and EMS. The information the Census collects helps to determine how more than $400 billion dollars of federal funding each year is spent on infrastructure and services like:
  • Hospitals
  • Job training centers
  • Schools
  • Senior centers
  • Bridges, tunnels and other-public works projects
  • Emergency services
Please do your part and complete the forms and return in a timely manner and encourage your employees do the same.

Sincerely,
