Greetings!

 The City of Green Planning Department would like to inform you about two interesting programs that may help your business' bottom line.  The first is a new energy efficiency revolving loan fund program offered through the Summit County Department of Development.  The second programs is for businesses considering exporting to India.  Find out more about each of these programs below.
 
Summit County Department of Development Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant Revolving Loan Fund Program
 The revolving loan fund is aimed at assisting (for-profit) businesses complete projects, which increase their energy efficiency and reduce operating costs. Eligible projects include the installation of insulation; installation of efficient heating, venting and air conditioning (HVAC); lighting retrofits, weather sealing, energy management, installation of ENERGY STAR appliances, installation of solar powered appliances such as a solar hot water heater and photovoltaic panels with improved efficiency and replacement of doors and windows.
 
The fund will be capitalized with $450,000 from the County of Summit EECBG funds.  Preference will be given to projects that have a 3-year cost recovery period and eligible projects cannot have a cost recovery period greater than 5 years. The loan terms include a fixed rate of 2%, an loan term of 5 years for projects with a 3 year cost recovery period, a 1% initial loan fee and an annual servicing fee of .5%.
 
The County of Summit EECBG program has been funded with American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) 2009 funds. Sub recipients and borrowers must comply with all ARRA regulations including but not limited to waste stream provisions, Section 1512 - Stimulus Reporting requirements, Section 1605 - "Buy American" and Section 1606- Davis Bacon (Prevailing Wage) requirements.

Summit County Mayors Association "Selling Your Products in India" Program
The Summit County Mayors Association is sponsoring a breakfast program on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 from 8:30 - 10:30 AM at the Jo-Ann Stores Corporate Offices for those interesting in learning more about international trade to India.  The program will bring together a panel of experts from the US Department of Commerce, Ohio Department of Development Global Markets Division, International Trade Assistance Center, The Timken Company, American Engineering Group, Ariel Ventures and the Summit County Mayors Association.  Cost for registering for the program is $15.
