This is our first edition of Business Matters, with more to come every other month.  If you would like to continue to receive these updates, please click here to sign-up.  Please pass this e-mail along to others at your company or additional colleagues in the City of Green to sign-up.
City Update
Massillon and Steese Roads Roundabout
Sign
The City of Green closed the intersection of Massillon and Steese Roads on June 8 in order to complete the construction of a Roundabout.  This new intersection will be safer and better equipped to handle the flow of traffic.  The intersection will be open to traffic beginning in late August.  For more information about the roundabout project or downloadable detour maps, click here
Stimulus Funding
The City of Green has been working hard to secure funding for road and sewer improvements to make Green a more business-friendly community, through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) and other local programs.  Thus far, the City has been awarded $2 million in stimulus funding for the Arlington Road corridor improvements in addition to funding already allocated for the project from other sources.  The City is also seeking direct state and federal appropriations for additional capital improvement projects such as the Massillon Road Sanitary Sewer Project, reconstruction of roadways within Interstate Business Park and the expansion of the CAK International Business Park.
Permits
Make sure the City of Green Zoning office is your first stop to obtain Sign Permit Applications for wall or temporary signs.  The Zoning Office also issues Certificates of Use and Occupancy, which are required prior to the occupation of commercial structures.  Certificates must also be obtained whenever a business changes ownership or when a full or partial change from one business use to another occurs.  For more information or an electronic application, please click here.
