From the General Manager
Welcome to the first electronic issue of our newsletter Dock Talk. With Memorial Day Weekend behind us, the boating season is now in full swing. This issue of Dock Talk features several upcoming events.
The Dockside tournament committee, with members from York Hospital and CCA as well as fishing enthusiasts from the community, worked hard all winter to organize the third annual striper tournament happening at the end of the month. We hope those who have fished the tournament before will enjoy the expanded tournament format this year and that those of you who have not been able to participate yet will join in the fun.
We also invite our customers and the Greater York boating community to participate in the free US Coast Guard vessel safety checks being offered on June 13. The members of the USGC Auxilliary who perform these checks offer safety and operational advice to boat owners as well as assuring each boat is in compliance with the federal and state regulations for safety equipment.
More information on each of these events is available below.

Vessel Safety Checks (VSC) assure boaters that they are ready for operating on the water safely. They are an easy way to be sure you are in compliance with Coast Guard equipment requirements and state, Federal, and local regulations.
- Saturday, June 13, between 9 AM and Noon
- VSC will take 20-30 minutes to perform (schedule your appointment*)
- Boat owner must be present and have valid boat registration
- 2009 US Coast Guard safety decal to those meeting requirements
- Complimentary continental breakfast
- 15% discount on all safety related store items (inc. life jackets, fire extinguishers, flares, etc.)
U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary vessel examiners will: verify the presence and condition of specific safety equipment required by Federal, state and local regulations; discuss the purpose and value of required and optional marine safety equipment; answer any boating related safety questions you may have; and make recommendations that will help you have a safer boating experience.
*"Drive-ins" are welcomed, but we recommend an appointment. This will make sure we have an adequate number of examiners available and we can plan for breakfast!
Stop in, call (207-363-3602) or email (office@yorkharbormarine.com) to schedule your VSC.
If you have questions about the safety checks or want to schedule your free inspection, contact the marina crew at 207-363-3602. More Information on Safety Checks>> |
