Torah Portion
September 22, 2012
Vayelech

Deuterononomy

31:1-31:30

Moses continues his address to the people, reminding them that he is 120 years old, and cannot cross the Jordan to enter the Promised Land with them.  But Joshua, he promises, will be a capable leader.  Moses summons Joshua and with all of Israel as witnesses, promises that Joshua will lead the people across the Jordan and then to victory.  Foreshadowing next week's Torah portion, God then asks Moses to compose a song.

Yom Kippur Food Drive

Neighbor to Neighbor This year, as in years past, GRS will be handing out empty food bags on Rosh Hashanah.  Please take them home, fill them up and return them to GRS on Yom Kippur.

The need for food has increased significantly over the summer, and one of the most sought  after items is peanut butter which has doubled in price (family size jars only).

If you won't serve a food to family or friends, please do not include it in your donation.
