The GRS Caring Community is underway. With Ronnie Gurney and Eve Goldberg as co-chairs, committee members will be able to provide assistance to temple members in times of need and to celebrate with them in times of joy. Tu b'Shevat Seder/Pot Luck Dinner

 Dear Friends, Thanks to all of you, last Shabbat's New Member Consecration and dinner were amazing! AND NOW for somthingCOMPLETELY DIFFERENT... This Erev Shabbat, Friday, February, 10 at 6:30 pm, our service will take place arround the dinner table for our Tu B'Shevat seder. In the tradition, Passover, with Haggadah in hand, we will experience the first signs of spring in the land of Israel. Together we will celebrate the bounty of the earth, with rituals including white and red wine (or grape juice for children) and special fruits, native to Israel and welcome Shabbat, all at the dinner table in the social hall. Of course, Cantor Lipton and I will provide an opportunity for both the Mi Shebeirach, the prayer for healing, and the recitation of Kaddish. Bring your favorite winter comfort food, and enjoy the warmth of family and friends on Shabbat. Israeli style foods are certainly in order! Purim Shabbat Service and Celebration

Please join Greenwich Reform Synagogue for a fun and musical family service featuring the K-1 class, and enjoy the first annual GRS Purim Shpiel including GRS members and clergy.
Enjoy a "kid friendly" Megillah reading, groggers, hamantaschen and a Parade of Costumes. Prizes awarded to all who come in costume (children and adults).

Purim Actors & Costumes Needed!!

No Purim is ever complete without a Purim shpiel - a play of the Megillah (story of Purim). But a shpiel needs actors! We've gotten a few volunteers, but we would love more involvement! There will be no memorization of lines, as narrators will be on hand for those who are shy to speak. We also will not need much rehearsal time for us to present a short, entertaining re-enactment of the Purim story. Adult or kids who are interested, please contact Erin at erin@grs.org.
Also for the Purim shpiel, children and adult costumes are needed, including dress-up clothing, funny hats, glasses, and masks.
Costumes for boys/men are especially needed.

Passover Fundraiser

 This is a Passover fundraiser for the GRS Religious School. Miss Chocolate collection envelopes were given to our religious school children during the last couple of weeks. In selling the Miss Chocolate goodies, our children can also win prizes for themselves! Below is a list of important information so everyone can make the most out of the candy sale! - If you do not have a child in the religious school, but you are interested in buying something, please contact Erin at erin@grs.org for more information.

FREE Taglit-Birthright trip to Israel!!

 Registration for the summer session of FREE Taglit-Birthright Israel trips with URJ Kesher opens on February 15th.
The program is open to Jewish young adults who are ages 18-26 and who have never been to Israel on a peer program. The URJ Kesher experience was created for participants coming from a Reform Jewish background. Learn more at www.gokesher.org.

Hebrew 101 - Thursday evenings at 7:45 with Rabbi Andrew R. Sklarz, MSW. An introduction to the Hebrew alphabet. Students will develop the skills for reading prayer and the fundamentals of reading and writing modern Hebrew. This course or equivalent background is required for those seeking conversion or Adult B'nai Mitzvah. Temple members ($36) and non-members ($50) are welcome.
