For the months of November and December the shop will be open Thursday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. In addition, the shop will be closed during the following dates for holidays:
November 24 - 30, 2011-CLOSED
December 22 - January 4, 2012-CLOSED

Roslyn Memory Block Workshop |
|
For those of you scheduled to enjoy JaNita Clairmont's "memory block" workshop November 4 -5, 2011, here are some recommendations and requirements regarding what to bring.
You will need an assortment of hand sewing needles (in particular, Milliners, Crewel/Embroidery, and a small Sharp. JaNita uses the sharps for beading. Some embroidery threads will be included in your kit; you may want to bring other threads. I recommend a book on embroidery stitches; it is not required, but it is very helpful especially if you are new to hand stitches. These items are available for sale in the shop.
The following list is required:
- Sewing machine in good working order with power cord and foot pedal
- Rotary cutter, mat, and ruler
- Scissors for paper and fabric
- Neutral thread
- Freezer paper (1 yard)
- Fine-point Sharpie markers in two colors (black and red are fine)
- Thimble, if you use one
- Fat quarter of muslin, preferably prewashed

February Retreat Promotion |

Since January 2012 marks the beginning of retreat season in the new year-round retreat center, I want to offer a special during the month of February. Book a retreat for dates in February and the following will apply:
** Key Person stays for free (Yes! Free!) ** 3-night minimum stay (for February promo only) ** 6 guests minimum/12 maximum ** $75/person/night
This new retreat center is a dream come true for me, and I trust it will exceed the expectations of quilters and crafters who come to stay. By the end of December I intend to have a virtual tour of the new retreat center on the website. Be sure to check it out!
