It's Show Time!
The Crazy for Quilts Show is only a three weeks away! And things are crazy at the shop as we gear up for a great show! We will have lots of kits, fat quarter packs, and wonderful wools for you to choose from while you are here for the show. So many beautiful quilts have been offered this year; you can't help but see quilts that you'll fall in love with! Show times are Friday and Saturday, August 26 and 27, from 9 am to 6 pm, and Sunday, August 28, 10 am to 2 pm. You can still purchase your ticket/wristband in advance so you won't have to wait in line when you get here for the show. They are $5 for one or $20 for five and are good for all three days of the show! |

Calling All Volunteers
Thanks to those of you who have already signed up to help out during the show. We will have a meeting at the shop on Tuesday, August 9, at 4 pm to get our act together. There are several times to volunteer--three-hour slots on Friday and Saturday and a four-hour slot on Sunday (10 am to 2 pm). I could also use help for set up and take down. If you are not able to come to the meeting, just give me a call or send me an email to let me know when you are available to volunteer. Thank you in advance for your help! I couldn't make the show happen without you! |
| Roslyn Memory Block Workshop
We have had a change of plans for JaNita's workshop. Instead of being during the quilt show, it is now scheduled for November 4 and 5 from 11 am to 3 pm. I hope this allows more of you to participate, especially those who are volunteering during the show; now you can do both! Once you have seen JaNita's work (she's our featured quilter this year) you'll definitely want to sign up!
The cost for the two-day workshop is $85 and includes everything you will need for the memory block JaNita has designed especially for us! Her sample is on display at the shop. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from one of the best! |

2012 Retreats
It is definitely not too early to reserve your dates for next year's retreats. Several weekends are already booked; don't wait and miss out on the dates you want!

| Lots of New Fabrics!
Now is the time to shop for your seasonal and holiday projects. There are several beautiful Christmas and winter collections as well as Halloween and autumn collections. Just in is Holiday Heritage by Blue Hills Fabrics.
This year's sunflower collection, Autumn Inspirations by South Seas, is going fast! We have kits using these fabrics for a tabletopper quilt and a beautiful but simple wall hanging using the awesome panel that goes with this collection!
Also new in the shop is Meadow Friends, a great collection of children's fabric with frogs, dragonflies, and turtles. Don't miss it!
The roosters have landed! Beautiful, saturated colors, along with coordinating chicken wire prints in two beautiful colors and even one print with colored feathers!
I have brought in a yummy collection of flannels, Winter 4 All Seasons from Andover. Touch them and you'll want to own them! |

Little Dresses for Africa
Join us on Tuesday, August 9, from 11 am to 3 pm, to make simple dresses to send to little girls in remote parts of Africa. This project is sponsored by Nancy's Notions ( www.nancysnotions.com) and the pattern is available on that web site if you cannot join us but would like to make a contribution. If you can join us, bring your machine, fabric, and bias tape and put together some of these cute dresses. I will provide the pattern for those who come on Tuesday. Each dress requires 5/8 to 1-1/8 yards of fabric, 2-1/2 yards of double-fold bias tape, and 12"-16" of 1/4"-wide elastic. |
