NEW FACE BEHIND THE CUTTING TABLE
Jean McDonald has been a customer, supporter, and dear friend of The Crazy Quilt Shop. She will be joining the staff beginning February 2! I am so excited to have Jean on board. She knows the shop like the back of her hand already, so she has a running start. Please welcome Jean when you see her in the shop.
UPCOMING CLASSES
Wool applique master artist Bonnie Lemert is back with another wool class, by popular demand! The class, "Crazy Patch Home," is scheduled for March 5, 2011, from 11 am to 4 pm. Class cost is $20; kit is $37.50. A supply list will be available at the time of class sign up. A sample of the project will be in the shop beginning Friday, 2/4, and can be made as either a pillow or a wall hanging.
Also back for an encore of her wildly popular class, Leslie Smith is teaching her Machine Quilting Class on March 12, 2011, from 11 am to 4 pm. The class cost is $40. But you need to hurry, because there are only two spots left in this class!
NEW IN THE SHOP
More batiks will be arriving in the shop this month. Already in are the new YLI silk threads...so yummy. I have also added silks, repurposed and new, for those who want to make silk crazy quilt squares. It's easy to fall in love with silk!
AND just as this newsletter is being finalized, several more bolts of those wonderful Aboriginal fabrics came through the door! Woohoo!!
CRAZY QUILT GROUP
If you are interested in learning about crazy quilting, or want to practice your skills with others, join us on Friday, February 4, 2011. Drop in any time between 11 am to 4 pm. Bring your scraps and see how fun crazy quilting can be. Feel free to bring a lunch; the kitchen is available to you, both fridge and microwave.
AVAILABLE RETREAT DATES ARE GOING FAST!
Retreat dates for the 2011 season (March through October) are filling quickly. In some months there are only one or two weekends still available. For those of you who would like to do a mid-week retreat (Tuesday through Thursday), the cost is $65/person/per night. Four guest minimum, ten guest maximum, two night minimum. Hurry! Dates are filling like crazy at The Crazy Quilt Shop and Hummingbird Inn!!
