Greetings!
The calendar says it's fall, but as we write this it's nearly 80 degrees outside! Time to enjoy it while we can; the ground will be white before we know it! |

Beginner Quilt Class Series
You Asked; We Are Delivering!
We are fortunate to have Joanne Ferry teaching a series of classes for beginners! Comprised of four Saturday classes, attendees will learn all the basics, and at the end of the fourth class, have a completed project!
Class 1: You will learn the theory behind the rules of quilting, including fabric selection, blocks, rotary cutting and seaming. You will choose a project and get started on the first block. You will shop for the fabric for your project with the help of the shop's friendly staff and myself and cut your first block.
Class 2: Sewing the first block with examples and supervision. Cut out blocks 2 and 3 and start sewing, too! A special fun Christmas pattern project that can easily be done for the holiday, guaranteed!
Class 3: Sewing block 3 and heading toward the finish. Saxhing and borders: how to measure and cut.
Class 4:The finishing touches and loose ends. Block placement, design walls, quilting (to be done on our own; foot will be demonstrated) and binding.
Dates: 11/20, 12/4, 12/11, and 12/18/10 Times: Noon to 3 pm each day Cost: $80 for the series |

What's New in the Shop
Yummy New Fabrics and Wool Kits
Remember the beautiful collection by Basic Grey, Origins, that came in last month? Well, over a dozen more bolts of the collection have been added to our shelves!
Remembrance by Bannock and Patek for Moda just hit the shelves. It is a gorgeous collection; come and see it. There are new wool kits and beautiful Valdani perle cotton thread collections in the shop! And we are beginning to receive the "crazy quilt" packs from Moda, including silks, cotton velvets, and cotton sateens. We are gearing up for some crazy quilting this winter!
Stop the presses! Literally as this newsletter is being prepared to send, Dusty, our trusty UPS driver, walks in with a big box! All of the replacement bolts of Flowers of the Sun from South Sea Imports have arrived. (We were told they wouldn't be here for weeks or months!) We will be making up kits from this fabric to make the quilt that many of you saw here at the shop during the quilt show. This fabric won't last; hurry! Because there are so many new bolts of fabric in the shop, I have made quite a few additions to the 40% off shelves.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, off to Market We Go!
Houston, Here We Come
I am SO excited! Debbie and I are scheduled to attend Quilt Market in Houston at the end of the month. We will be on the hunt for new and wonderful things to bring to the shop in the coming months. While we are in Houston Cathy will be taking very good care of the shop and our dear customers. In next month's newsletter maybe I'll tease you with a little bit of the treasures we found!

I continue to be so grateful for each and every one of you, as customers, friends, and fellow quilters.
