| It's Almost Show Time!
I'm counting weeks and days instead of months until the 2nd Annual Crazy for Quilts Show! The dates are Friday through Sunday, August 27-29, 2010, right here in Roslyn. The majority of the quilts will be hanging in the NWI Building (formerly Mountain Elegance furniture) across the street, as well as upstairs here at the shop. But that's not all that's going on...read on for all the news! |

| Quilt Show News
A BIG THANK YOU to all of you who provided applications for the show. We have just enough room to accommodate all 250 quilt applications, so if you sent an application, your quilt has been accepted! Please remember that entered quilts need to be at the shop no later than Saturday, August 14, by 5 pm.
Quilt Show T-Shirts
If you want to make sure you get your limited-edition quilt show T-Shirt, come and get 'em! Sizes from M to XL, $15; size XXL, $17.50.
Quilt Show Posters
Also available are this year's quilt show posters. There is a limited supply and they are $5 each.
Volunteer Meeting
The first volunteer meeting will be held at the shop on Tuesday, August 10, at 3 pm. If you are unable to attend but want to volunteer during the show, please call and let me know. We will be working out the schedule on Tuesday, among other important information.
Show Dates and Times
The quilt show will be held Friday, August 27, through Sunday, August 29.
Friday, 8/27: Show during Roslyn Art Walk, 5 - 9 pm
Saturday, 8/28: Show times 9 am - 6 pm; live music noon - 6 pm.
Sunday, 8/29: Show times 10 am - 2 pm; Roslyn Farmers Market in front of the shop from 10 am - 2 pm |
New Fabrics
Two new collections arrived in the shop since the last newsletter: Summer's End by Moda and Elizabeth's Studio's Face the Music. There are also some beautiful new sunflower fabrics, and a selection of Stonehenge fabrics. |
August Sew Mates
The Sew Mates will gather on Wednesday, August 18, from 6 to 9 pm at the shop. No doubt the major topic will be the upcoming show, but we will also continue to work on unfinished projects. Please join us! |
Quilt Gift to New Cle Elum Senior Center
The Sew Mates made a beautiful quilt for the new Cle Elum Senior Center. The Center plans to raffle off the quilt this fall; in fact, when I delivered the quilt last week, they were so excited! They already had raffle tickets ready and were thrilled that the quilt had a fall theme. Thanks to all of you who put this quilt together. Stop by the Senior Center if you have a chance; the quilt is hanging prominently! And of course buy a few raffle tickets! |
| First Fall Class Scheduled
Lynn Parker has created a new table runner pattern for this class. The class is scheduled for Thursday, September 15, 2010, from 11 am to 4 pm. The cost is $35. Lynn's last class was very popular, so sign up early!
