Giving back with Garden Grove AYFers all around the country are doing great things to Give Back to their communities.  In California, the Garden Grove Falcons got an eye-opening lesson about what our homeless population goes through and participated in a fundraiser to help the Los Angeles Mission.  Team members had to make their own cardboard shelters and slept outside in sleeping bags under police supervision.  Click here to read about their efforts.

Do you have some stories to share about your team or squad?  Share them! Contact Ashley Schwartz, [email protected].
Let's play cards
In the next few weeks, you will be receiving AYF's brand new player cards in the mail.  These new cards will be very important for your athletes over the course of the next few years - so please make sure that each of your athletes gets a card.

So what does it do?
The new ID cards will be a form of identification for your athletes to gain entry AYF events.  But more importantly, this card will give your team/squad discounts at local retailers.  If you live near a Modell's Sporting Good store, it will get you 10% off your purchase.  It will also give each of your players access to AYF's new PlayerSpace - the first safe and controlled online environment for kids.  Click here to check out the homepage.

Click here to see more information on the ID Cards.  If you have any questions about this program - contact Kristin Walker.
AYC News
Safety with AACCA
AYC and UCA are dedicated to the safe and responsible practice of cheerleading.  All UCA Instructors are AACCA Safety Certified and use the AACCA Safety Manual as a teaching guide and resource for camps, clinics, competions and practice.  Soon, tryouts for the next season will take place, giving coaches the opportunity to implement their safety programs for a new team.  AYC strongly encourages all coaches to become AACCA Safety-Certified not only for the safety of the athlete but to enforce safe cheering and enhance safety in their programs.

AACCA is the recognized standard of care for all cheerleading activities and AYC is proud to enforce the rules for the 2010 season.  AACCA certification is available in all 50 states by taking the accredited 4-hour course and upon completion, remains in effect for 4 years.

2010 rules are here
The 2010 AYC rules are completed and posted at www.myayf.com  -- please check them out!  Click here to access the ACCAA up to date working FAQ.

UCA camps mean money for your league
If your leagues are interested in summer camps and clinics please contact [email protected] to host a camp in your community.   AYC has exclusive camp/clinic pricing from UCA.  This is a great way for everyone to get some additional training and safety tips.  With summer approaching the dates are booking fast!    Cheerleading can be a safe and healthy activity when it is properly supervised. Let's use these tools of awareness to make sure we are all doing our part!
Once in AYF, always in AYF
Every year, at this time, AYF and AYC lose a talented class of eighth and ninth graders to high school competition.  We wish them luck and hope that the skills they've learned from their AYF coaches serve them well in the future.  Congratulations to our graduates.

What is IMG?

IMG and AYF and AYC.  That is a whole lot of letters.  Here is what it means.

Just last month, IMG joined the AYF family of partners to offer AYF/AYC members the best youth athletic training available in the US.  There expertise is not limited to just football, it includes lacrosse, baseball, basketball.  These instructional sessions focus on skill building, team building, mental and physical conditioning and nutritional consultation.

To learn more about the full service training facility that is IMG Academies, keep an eye out on AYF websites for training tips and check out their website
What does AYF/AYC look like?
