| Step into Action
When you think of step - what comes to mind? Stepping is a facet of AYC that exemplifies many attributes - dedication, strength, creativity, self expression, skill and heart! All of this embodies our four pillars of AYF.
Step is a way to interact and network with other organizations.
Help AYC Step to represent the many step teams across the US at our 2010 Nationals! This April please approach your local parks and recreation centers. Many of them have step programs and mentoring opportunities for Step coaches which supports AYF's mantra of "Giving Back!" Joe's Presidents Corner
It is that time of year again - registration. I wanted to share with you some tactics that I have found useful over the years. Some elements of guerilla marketing are very helpful for teams with limited budgets. Find out where the children in your area hang out. Shopping malls? Mickey D's? Rec Centers? Parks? Hang posters in high traffic locations and keep the message simple. All you need is your association name, the time and place.
Remember the car wash that cheerleaders were so successful with? Have some of last year's players in their game jerseys outside the location to direct the cars to the parking area. This will attract attention to your registration.
Talk to your local sponsors about your sign up plans. You may be surprised at their ideas on how you can partner with them. Most sponsors welcome the exposure and it will help you maximize your efforts. Once inside, you can help answer questions by posting FAQ's or have your friendly volunteers roam the lines to answer parents' questions.
Tell them why AYF is number one:
1. Coaches Trained in safe techniques by a Career Football Staff.
2. Academic requirements, awards and Scholarships.
3. Players showcased at AYF Regionals, Nationals, Conference All Stars and National All Star Selection.
4. Big boys and girls who need activity can play football, cheer, or step.
5. Join a community of like minded volunteers who "put kids first."
