American Youth Cheer Newsletter AYC Cheers, Dances, and Steps!
|
| AYCs membership is growing fast and many of you have questions about QUALIFYING for AYC CHAMPIONSHIPS.
AYC teams qualify for AYC National Championships by placing either 1st,2nd or 3rd in a REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP (locations tba, find regional representative contact information at www.Myayf.com), OR teams can qualify through your CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP pending advanced approval from AYC. For approval on Conference Qualification contact us at cheer@americanyouthfootball.com
Regional Competition Information will be posted at Myayf.com as it becomes available, and it will also be emailed to you via this newsletter.
Another issue to clarify is AYC divisions and rules. The competition divisions and rules are spelled out very clearly in the AYC RULE BOOK. If you are planning to compete, your squads must abide by the Rules and Regulations set out in the AYC rule book, and for competition, your teams must be organized into the AYC divisions. If your teams do not wish to compete in AYC regional/national competition, you can organize your squads by whatever divisions suit your association best, but safety, sportsmanship, and fair play rules are always required.
The tentative date for the 2009 AYC National Championships is December 12th, with check-in/events beginning on December 10th in Orlando, Florida.
As always, participating squads will need to stay in approved lodging and have all the appropriate paperwork. Further details TBA.
We hope that this gets you started on the path to an exciting competition season.
We can't wait to see you all in Florida!
Cheers!
