| What Are We Up To This Week? |
I am letting my hair down this week (if I had any!), I am off to 3 Christmas Parties and will generally be getting in the Xmas spirit.
I love this time of year as the kids are so excited and the place just has a nice feel about it.
Apart from that I am working 1-2-1 with people and moving along with some other projects I am working on. I am also off to get a tattoo this morning so looking forward to seeing the results!
Good times now and good times moving forward! 2010 is going to be a massive year...time to really up my game with helping people reduce weight and just be slim and do something more fun than dieting !

Greetings!
Good Morning !!
Back in the usual slot of early on this Saturday morning! Thanks to all the people who mailed me during last Saturday asking me if I was still alive!! ;-)
It is funny how we all get into routines and sometimes stepping out of that routine feels strange. Even writing the newsletter last week a day later, I was in a different mood, different mindset and felt differently about what to write.
They do say that if you keep doing what you have always done then you always get the same result! I tried dieting for twenty years by treating it as a prison sentence and never succeeded for very long. The day I decided to break the routine and laugh about it I created the success I desired for so long.
This week's article is called 'Putting It Off' and will definitely hit for loads of people as it is such as common thing to do. It is fine to put things off in your life, both in terms of dieting and other things, but there is no point in feeling bad about it as it is merely a choice!
Before I leave this week I want to talk to you about someone I am working with at the minute. She is an absolute diamond and has already reduced her weight by over a stone. She has a few more stones to go but last week she had a bit of a mad night out, she ate and drank loads and felt like she had failed and blown everything.
The reality is that she had a blow out! No more and no less than that. If you want to be slim long term then blow out's don't tend to help that but everything, everything (everything!) you do in life is your choice so don't beat yourself up, you aren't a failure, you aren't doomed and you certainly aren't destined to be fat forever! You merely are going to take a bit longer.
Therefore, never take your eyes off the prize of what you want, never doubt yourself, let nothing stand in your way as everyone who reads this newsletter deserves to be, and should be, happy in whatever happiness means to them.
I hope you have an amazing week and as we head into Christmas I hope you start to think of what 2010 holds for you and what amazing things you can achieve both as an individual and us as a group!
To our success
Cya Saturday
Mike ;-)

Putting It Off
|
I had a great conversation with someone in the week who phoned to ask if they could come and see me in early January.
I, of course, said yes but asked why they didn't want to come now.
They said that with Christmas coming up they were putting dieting on hold for a few weeks and would deal with their weight issues in January.
It was like talking to myself a few years ago!
I used to book myself to go an see a weight counsellor, or buy some exercise equipment, or go and buy a diet book, or buy a tray of slimfast or get the latest fitness DVD.
But then I would never go to the appointment. I would try and move it again into the future, the diet book would gather dust, the tray of slimfast would go out of date and the DVD would sit for so long that the celebrity endorsing it would have regained their weight.
So why do we do it?
The answer is because you feel better about the situation at that moment in time, and while you are pretending to do something about your weight then you don't get to feel bad about it.
So by organising to come and sort out your weight in January, it actually means you give yourself licence to eat and drink whatever you like in December because you will sort it out afterwards.
It's the credit card mentality to dieting where you eat now and pay later.
Of course, when you get to January the problem is even worse and because of a party, birthday, special occasion etc etc you then rearrange the appointment for February because life got in the way. Then of course it is Easter, the summer, wedding times, holidays and then it's so close to Christmas you may as well put it off until the New Year.
Now all of this sounds like a criticism but it isn't! It is just a choice...
The important thing to understand is that you are making that choice. If you choose in December to stop dieting or eat loads then that is fine as you decided to do it but just ask yourself whether this fits in with your longer term goals.
Just imagine in December trimming down a bit? or maybe just maintaining your current weight?
Now I won't put weight on over Christmas. It is not because I am some sort of guru now, it is because I never ever ever want to have to diet again as it ruled my life and so I will still have my Starbucks Mince Pies and my Hotel Chocolat Advent Calendar but I will make sure it is appropriate amounts so that my weight is stable.
I remember back to 2005 when I didn't eat a thing on Christmas Day and it taught me a lesson that I will always live with, you don't need food and drink to enjoy yourself, you don't need food and drink to be with the ones you love and have a great time. If you think you do then you need to sort out that belief before you get to slimdom!
Now turning this to you...
Are you putting off dealing with your weight? Have you got a diet 'ready' in the wings to use later? What is your plan for Christmas in tems of your weight? People will spend ages writing present lists and shopping for others but how much time do we spend thinking about ourselves and where we are going and what we really want?
I got up Xmas day in 2005 and put on a pair of jeans that Big Mike would have never ever dreamed of getting into, and I decided then never to rent those jeans for a while but to have them and be able to wear them forever.
So what's your old year resolution for December?
I hope you have an amazing week and I shall cya Saturday
Mike ;-)
