Big Question Of The Week

In Terms Of Your Weight What Would You Rather Happen Instead?

What Are We Up To This Week?

This week I am busy working on the self-help pack and also working on the new website.

The videoing went really well last week and hope to have it up on the internet as quickly as I can.

I also had a mail from someone this week asking about a 'boot camp' style weekend to meet up and talk through the mindset of dieting, I am going to look into whether this is possible and how it might work, let me know if you are interested!

On a personal note the new bowling league starts this Thursday!! We are hot favourites and our team name is 'Gutterly Disappointing'

Greetings!

How are you?

I hope you are doing really well!

This week I did an exercise with someone that worked really really well at unlocking some doors, so I can't wait to share it with you!

To do the exercise this week you need a pad, a pen, some quiet time and some enthusiasm to want to change. As long as you have all those then you should get some excellent advice on how you can do great stuff, and even better, that advice is from the absolute expert in everything related to you....YOU!

Sometimes people go to experts and ask them how they can change but I have never met anyone who isn't the expert of themselves, they know what they are good at, what they are not so good at, what their 'baggage' is and what really would make a difference in their life.

Now certainly when working with people I 'tour guide' them through themselves and get people to realise the real reasons they do things but ultimately the change can only happen if you choose to let it. I won't use the 'horse to water' analogy but it is true ;-)

Ultimately, nobody else can get you slim! Slick marketing etc can make you believe the latest CD, book or DVD will, but ultimately only 'You can make you slim...' and don't let anyone tell you that the magic isn't in you and you need someone else to force you! You are great! You just have to realise it...

Before I leave this week I just want to talk about loose skin! Now when I got to goal weight I had a lot of loose skin, and to be fair I still have!! My moobs are still not pecs and my bingo wings still fly when I wave too much at people. I worked with a lady who stopped dieting because she was concerned about loose skin, when I was big and plumped out I didn't obviously have loose skin so I always looked at loose skin as a sign of success as it meant I had got rid of all the weight!

Therefore how you think about loose skin will create the feelings you want, if you think of loose skin as a battle scar and something awful then it will be, if you see it is a sign of success that you can then tone up and sort out then it is so much better!

Right I am off to do some moob toning...

Have a great Saturday and cya next week

Letter To Yourself

Please don't read this exercise below and think it sounds good but then don't do it. I promise you this is so useful and really can help you but does need about half an hour's effort to do it. I hope you do give it a go and let me know how you get on, if you want to!

Ok sit down with a pad and then write out

1. What exactly is happening with your diet/weight at present?

2. What would you rather happen instead ?

3. When did you first realise that you wanted this new goal ?

4. What have you already been doing to get your goal ?

5. What are you going to continue to do to get to your goal ?

6. What are you going to stop doing immediately which is stopping you from getting to your goal ?

Now pick a time in the future, this may be a special event you have planned, or it may just be 1,2 or even 5 years from now.

Get a sheet of paper and write the date in the future at the top.

Imagine that the period of time has passed between now and this date, you are sitting there in the future on that date having got to your goal, you are truly happy in your life, doing what you want to do and being the real you.

Write 'Dear Me'

And then start to write to yourself, tell yourself how the journey has been, what you did that worked really well, what techniques and ideas you found to 'cope' with certain issues and what good things you have achieved.

Explain to yourself what you had to drop along the way and the benefits in doing that.

Try and keep the letter bright, breezy and fun, you are so excited at having your goals that you want to tell yourself just how amazing the journey was.

Go into minute detail of what you did, what you learnt, who you used for advice and what little hints and tips you can give yourself now.

Don't worry if it seems far fetched or unlikely, just go with the flow and really put yourself in the mindset of the successful goal getter.

Then when you have finished the letter leave it for a few days, then read it back to yourself, bring yourself back to now and read the advice as you will know it is all excellent advice and very relevant to you as you wrote it!

I promise you this little exercise is fantastic and well worth the effort.

Cya Saturday

Mike ;-)
You Can Heal Your Life
QS

I have to say I am a great fan of Louise Hay, her book explains her opinion on what you think is what you will get. If you believe you are destined to be overweight then you will be and how the power of thought can create the reality you want.

This is a very easy read and is another book that makes you realise just how you think about yourself and gives some excellent affirmation techniques to remind yourself just how great you really are.

You can get this book from Amazon at

There is also an excellent audio CD version from Amazon at
