What specifically do you want with your weight? (not what you don't want)
Now if you look at this question then there are three keys elements which should explain why it is important.
The first thing is the word 'specifically', this means, be exact!
So don't say 'I want to be slim'
Because slim isn't measurable! It is subjective....you might argue that I am tall because I am six foot but actually compared to a block of flats I am actually pretty short! Therefore slim in itself is no measure and therefore a very wooly target.
So specifically would be an answer like 'I want to be a size 10' or 'I want to weight 10 stone 3 pounds'
Now the key thing here is to have that target very much so that it makes you smile your face off, when you think of that target it should fill you with enthusiasm and an urge to have it right now.
The 2nd key thing is what you 'want'
Now you might NEED to lose weight but actually as a motivator although NEED is very strong it usually isn't much fun! If you NEED to pay your mortgage, or NEED to put the washing on, or NEED to go to work then you don't tend to do it with a smile on your face.
But if you WANT something and I mean really WANT it then usually it brings out positive emotion in you and becomes enjoyable. I WANT to go and see my favourite music band, I WANT to go out with the kids to the cinema etc etc.
Therefore WANTING to be slim and healthy is actually better than NEEDING to be slim and healthy as the motivation is towards what you WANT and not NEEDING to get away from something.
The final key is the 'Not what you don't want'
A lot of people with their weight are great at telling you what they don't want. I have said before that I had a lady say to me 'I don't want to die..' and I replied 'OK that's what you don't want but what do you want?' and she replied that she didn't know...
Therefore she had no goal! No plan and no idea of actually why she really WANTED to be slim. She knew she NEEDED to because of her health but it had never worked, when she started to think about what she WANTED then it become much clearer.
I had loads of people mail me during the week answering the questions and most people, 85% to be precise!, had the answer 'I don't want to be fat, I don't want to die, I don't want to get ill, I don't want to look awful anymore'
Only 15% of people had a positive answer and even some of them would finish the sentence by putting themselves down!
So can you answer this question with a positive answer?
If you want to mail me your answer for a score out of 100 for positivity then my mail is
