A Strong Positive Attitude Will Create More Miracles Than Any Wonder Drug - Patricia Neal
What Are We Up To This Week?

Well last weekend was really good fun as we ran a day for dieters to come along to and go through the mindset of dieting and why they do what they do. To all of you, I hope you enjoyed the day, it was lovely to meet you all!

We are now running a special Mother's Day weekend offer in March. We are doing a No Willpower Required day on Saturday 21st March in Chesham. As this is the day before Mother's Day, if you book yourself on the course then you can bring your Mum for free!

If you fancy really learning how to do things differently then check out the link at

This week we have another Weight Management Coaching Programme running in Brentwood, Essex. The course still has spaces and the feedback from people who have been so far, is that they have found the skills and certification to be very useful in helping them create better results and build their businesses. There is still time to come and book so if you have the 10th/11th February free, then pop along!

Apart from that, Steve and I are really busy on the book and also working on a special project which looks really exciting ;-)

Bowling wise, I played against Hells Belles last night who trounced us into the floor. We are now 8th in the league which sounds Ok until you realise there are only 8 teams......

Greetings!

I hope you had a great week and that the snow hasn't been too bad wherever you are in the country.

We have been very lucky to have had no snow at all here on the East coast, but it is funny that people here are disappointed that we haven't! People have been feeling "left out" because they haven't had the same experience as the rest of the country.

Now, for me, I love NOT having snow. Although it is pretty and lovely to look out and see on Christmas morning, the reality is that it can be very dangerous and generally disrupts our lives. Even so, one of my office colleagues wanted snow so that he didn't have to come to work! I pointed out that if he didn't want to come to work that much then why not go and get another job which he did want to do...he never replied!

The article this week really leads on from the public course last Sunday. We talked a lot about what people really want in their lives, what your true goals and aspirations are and whether or not by setting better goals in your mind you can create more success.

Finally, before I go, for all those of you who E-Mailed me your list of things you were going to do in 2009, just wondered where you were with them? We are already into February and so you should be well into those new challenges and experiences, have you started all of them yet? Even better have you finished them? If not, then maybe this weekend is the weekend to pick the most fun one and go play.

Have a fantastic week!

Mike :-)
Setting The Goal

What Is Your Real Goal?

When I work 1-2-1 with people I am always very interested in what their real goal is. You would assume that everyone has the same goal, but that isn't true.

Read this list of goals regarding weight.

1. I want to lose weight
2. I want to be slim
3. I want to be healthy
4. I want to be happy

Now they are all exactly the same thing surely? I mean everyone wants to lose weight, be slim and healthy and ultimately be happy so all sounds good.

So which of those goals do you set yourself when you start a diet? When you think about weight are you thinking about being slim forever or are you thinking about quickly losing weight for an event.

When I dieted it was all about wanting to lose weight at the start, it was about losing weight because I didn't want to diet, didn't want to urinate blood anymore, didn't want to have chest pains and therefore was all about what I didn't want.

Then I changed my mindset during the diet to what I did want. I wanted to be slim! Therefore suddenly it was about what I did want which was to go on holiday and go on loads of rides and experience new things.

But then, was I actually healthy? Well certainly I was slim but health is a different thing to being slim. For me, healthy meant then, and still does now, looking after myself, that incorporates exercise, and eating good quality, nutritious foods, and generally keeping myself in good health. One of my best friends is slim but eats a huge amount of saturated fat as he loves pizza and kebabs, therefore, is he truly healthy?

And finally, of course, happy! I have said before about the fantasy that slim means happy. If you are happy, and by happy I mean whatever "happy" means to you, then you tend to value your health highly and therefore you are slim because of that.

The point of this article is to make you think what your goal is. If I had my time again, I would have set a goal of being happy! Because if you have that goal and work and plan towards it then what you'll find is that the behaviour of overeating will stop anyway as you won't need the emotional boost that food gives you if you are happy being you!

I got big because I used food to relieve boredom and give comfort. If I was actually happy then I wouldn't need food as a sticky plaster for those situations, and "losing weight" would have happened anyway.

So what's your goal? Your true goal? And what do you really need to change in your life to achieve it.. once you know will you actually make those changes...GO FOR IT!

Have a fantastic week

Mike :-)
The Rainbow Machine
RMAn Amazing Guy..And Read

Ok of all the books I have ever recommended this has to be the best yet! I only got this book on Monday this week and have read it twice already.

The guy who writes this is a genius, his view on the world is just so amazing and the way he changes others thought patterns is just incredible. The reason the book is called Rainbow Machine is that they couldn't get a child into an X-Ray machine as she was too scared, but when he told her it was a Rainbow Machine that was looking for a pot of gold and that it was a secret, the little girl was asking to be allowed to have a go. So simple, and yet so effective.

I found this book emotional, hilarious and massively thought provoking and I cannot recommend this enough. If you buy one book this year make it this one and mail me when you have read it as I am sure you will agree it makes you think so much and all in a positive way.

Fantastic!
