Quote Of The Week

For myself I am an optimist - it does not seem to be much use being anything else.

What Are We Up To This Week?

Well I have spent the week in bed getting over a minor operation on my tummy. Am getting on fine though and will be back up and rejoining the human race on Monday!
LINK OF THE WEEK

This is a friend of mines website, Joe is an absolute diamond and helps me with the newsletter each week by offering an opinion on it's content and for that I thank her.
Issue: # 7 September 6th 2008
Greetings!

This is now the 7th of my "No Willpower Required" Newsletters, and I promise from next week to stop counting them!!

I hope you have had a great week, I had my minor operation last week and spent the week on my laptop in bed so have enjoyed this week catching up with old friends and also chatting to many of you either on internet forums or direct E-Mails.

As usual if in anyway you find this newsletter beneficial and thought provoking then please forward it to a friend or clients for them to sign up. If you go to the bottom of this mail you will see a blue "forward email" link which allows you to send this weeks newsletter to up to five friends and allow them to subscribe.

I am still very keen to publish notes, articles and opinions from you and hence if you feel you could write a piece to inspire and help others then get in touch!

This weeks article is on limiting beliefs which is very common with clients I see. People don't realise just how fantastic they are, and can be, so hopefully this article will make you realise that a belief can be changed in the blink of an eye.

As a final thought I was chatting to someone on Facebook in the week who was talking to me about how they were going to be restarting a diet and were worried because it was going to be so much harder the second time round, I asked why she thought that and she said because everyone else told her that it would be.   I pointed out that what if everyone said it was easier the second time round and then told her just how easy it would be! Therefore never make a decision that you won't be able to do something before you have even started. You can do anything you want to, just got to believe you can!

Have a great week

Mike :-)
Limiting Beliefs

What if you knew no limits then what could you achieve?

A limiting belief is something that you believe about yourself that places a limitation on your abilities. They may be based on fact but in most cases are based on your own perception of what is fact.

I see a lot of people who say things like

"I am overweight, always have been, always will be...."

Now the fact they are overweight may well be true, the fact they may always have been overweight may also be based in fact BUT the limiting belief that they "always will be" means that they have reduced their options down to one and guess what that one is....

Limiting beliefs are actually all in your mind, in reality there is no such thing, you can do absolutely anything you set your mind to because  when you have made a decision to actually do something, then you will always get round any obstacles and achieve what you set out to do.

The beliefs we have about ourselves absolutely colour our vision and shape the world we create, a belief will control how you feel and ultimately how you act. If you think you will fail at something then you will, if you believe something is going to be impossible, then you have failed before you even started.

A limiting belief needs constant attention to remain that way and hence the more you believe you have limits then the more you ring fence yourself. If you realise that you have absolutely no limit to what you can do, and that you can create the reality exactly how you want it, then those limiting beliefs will have to disappear as you will be too busy being happy and achieving to even entertain the idea that you could fail.

It was a quote of the week a few weeks ago and also my motto throughout the time I was reducing my weight and that was "Believe you will, believe you won't, you'll be right either way" and absolutely I believe that is true.

So if you have any limiting beliefs about yourself then let's have them...think them out! What are they stopping you doing? What are they stopping you achieving? What if you made a decision to change the belief today for something that gives you a more positive outcome? Bring them out of your unconscious mind into your conscious thought..realise what those beliefs are and then realise that they aren't true and that they are just a noise in your head...decide today that you can be so much more and then you will find you just are!

People who are "naturally" lucky or "naturally" succeed at things do so because they don't limit themselves by believing that they aren't!

Someone said to me last week..."shoot for the moon Mike and land amongst the stars"...I just thought why would I want to do that when I could go so much further :-)

Have a fantastic weekend.

Mike :-)
