It's Time to Celebrate
Adventure in Faith 2010 |
Our annual Adventure in Faith celebration will be a fun opportunity to celebrate NOW! with your spiritual community. There will be a spaghetti lunch - vegetarian or meatballs - tossed salad, rolls, and dessert. All donations to benefit Unity of Tustin. To help us plan, please sign up today to attend or email maryjeanne@unitytustin.org.

Early morning and vespers chanting by the monks of this working monastery add to the sacred energy. The abbey is secluded high on a hilltop setting with beautiful trees, flowers, and gardens. All rooms have twin-size beds, private baths, a desk and a comfortable chair.

1-Day Silent Retreat
with Rev. Paul Tyman and Rev. Carolyne Mathlin
Designed for experienced and beginning meditators, this one-day retreat at Unity of Tustin is an opportunity to deepen our meditation practice and open to the infinite possibilities when we focus our conscious awareness on the Divine Presence within.
Our day will include a time of instruction, Silent meditation, optional walking meditation, and questions and answers.
Sign-up now online or on Sunday. A light lunch will be provided for those who sign up by November 10.

Introduction to the Spiritual Practice of Meditation
with Rev. Carolyne Mathlin
 Learn about and practice various forms of meditation. Each class will include a time of instruction and extended meditation practice. We will also weave in teachings from our Adventure in Faith material, making this a wonderful companion class to your AIF experience.

Youth and Family Ministry Update
During October we had a change in our Youth and Family Ministry. Pamela Barton-Erdahl stepped down from her role as Family Ministry Director for personal reasons. Pamela served our community as the Youth and Family Ministry Director for over 5 years. We send her love and blessings as she enters this new phase of her life.

Christmas Decorating Party
It really is that time of year again. We will get our sanctuary ready for the Christmas season on Wednesday, November 24 from 10:00 - 1:30. Decorating usually takes about 2-3 hours (and we serve lunch). Contact Mary Jeanne Hawes if you are available and are ready to usher in Christmas for our community.

Love Offering
Bring the mystical message of Christmas into your weekly routine through contemplation and devotion. Set aside one hour a week to connect with the deeper teachings of the Christmas story and integrate those teachings in the Silence of your being.
Each Monday we will incorporate a mini Christmas message, music, an extended time of silent meditation, prayer, references to scripture, and a 'take-home' practice. Each component will come together to create a sacred container for your body, mind, heart and soul to receive the Divine.
Give yourself and those you love the gift of taking time out of your hectic holiday schedule and ground in the energy of what is truly important - embodying Christ Consciousness.
