Greetings!
Every fall, our spiritual community participates in Adventure in Faith (AIF). AIF is our community homecoming, a wonderful time to get involved in service and spiritual study.
As you attend Sunday services, read this year's book, participate in selfless service and pray with your community, you will notice the energy and teachings building on each other. This is a season of spiritual renewal that promises to change your life.
AIF is a distinct and deeply meaningful time of the year. Here's why:
- We incorporate an eight-week Sunday talk series based on a specially selected book. This year it is The Naked Now by Richard Rohr.
- We use the colors of the rainbow (the spectrum of light) to build in consciousness. Some people enjoy wearing the particular color of each Sunday.
- We have special service projects, programs, and prayer retreats.
- We highlight people and ministries during the Sunday services.
- We educate our community on what it takes to maintain our community through selfless service and financial contributions.
- We invite each person to enter into a financial commitment for the upcoming year as one part of their spiritual practice.
This Sunday the fun begins. We look forward to seeing you at Unity of Tustin for services and all the other wonderful events we have plannned.

AIF Community Gathering Survey |
We are turning to you to vision and create our Adventure in Faith (AIF) community gathering (Gala/Evening of Presence) this year. In our past we have had gatherings that were very formal, others that focused on the spiritual journey we have embarked on during AIF and others that were very festive with a celebration/party atmosphere. What will this year's gathering look like? Will there be one? Your participation in this survey will help determine what we do. The survey will be open until Sunday, October 10.

Introduction to the Spiritual Practice of Meditation
with Rev. Carolyne Mathlin
 Learn about and practice various forms of meditation. Each class will include a time of instruction and extended meditation practice. We will also weave in teachings from our Adventure in Faith material, making this a wonderful companion class to your AIF experience.

Only have a little time to offer? We have small tasks that will work for someone with a tight schedule.
Annual Clean-Up Day
It's that time again. On Saturday, October 30 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, we'll clean, polish, reorganize, weed, rake and generally spiff up our beautiful campus. A sign-up sheet will be available on the patio on Sundays. Odysseus and the Enneagram
with Richard Long and Kathryn Grant
 What does the Odyssey have to do with the Enneagram? Let the Enneagram be your passport to one of the most famous journeys ever taken. Journey to the nine famous lands with their "strange" inhabitants to find your home.
The inner journey to your spiritual and psychic home is similar to a sea cruise - rough waters and smooth sailing, encounters with helpful, friendly people as well as denizens of the deep, anxious to see us drown.
Re-experience the Odyssey that you learned in high school and college as a metaphor for coming home to your spiritual center. Recognize yourself in the characters of this epic poem. No need to have read (or remember) the Odyssey, to understand Greek or the Enneagram or even to have an interest in mythology.
 Richard Long is the owner of Personality Type Works, an Enneagram and MBTI consulting and training company. He has studied the Enneagram since 1993 as well as serving as a Board Member of the Southern California International Enneagram Association for five years.  Kathryn Grant is a spiritual director and life coach. She is also a founding member of the International Enneagram Association. Kathryn was a co-presenter at the recent IEA conference with Michael Goldberg.

Enter the season of celebrating the Christ born anew in a profound way. Give yourself the gift of Silence as the holiday season begins by attending this 3-day retreat on Thanksgiving weekend.
Early morning and vespers chanting by the monks of this working monastery add to the sacred energy. The abbey is secluded high on a hilltop setting with beautiful trees, flowers, and gardens. All rooms have twin-size beds, private baths, a desk and a comfortable chair.

1-Day Silent Retreat
Designed for experienced and beginning meditators, this one-day retreat at Unity of Tustin is an opportunity to deepen our meditation practice and open to the infinite possibilities when we focus our conscious awareness on the Divine Presence within. Sign-ups sheets will be available beginning October 17.
A light lunch will be provided for those who sign up by November 10.
