 Reflecting on the Saddleback Forum

Last Sunday Dr. Marj Britt asked our congregation if they would be interested in applying the map of consciousness to "real world" events - namely the recent forum at Saddleback Church. Many raised their hands.
What is your response to the questions asked at the Saddleback forum?
Join us on Sun, Aug 31 at 1:30 pm as we look at engaged spirituality and the map of consciousness as it shows up in our lives and in our collective consciousness.
Perhaps you will find where your own levels and lines of awareness reveal themselves on a map of consciousness, or even where your own perceptions may mirror or shift from those of our two presidential candidates. You could even find the complexities in your own consciousness as well as the complexities in the world...and understand how it is possible to honor the sacred impulse of consciousness in its play.
This will not be about evaluating, debating or winning...it will be about sharing from the heart and seeing where that opening takes us.

 Honoring & Celebrating the Life of Nellie Woodlief Fleming
January 29, 1938 to August 6, 2008
Rev. Nellie Fleming served Unity of Tustin (then named Unity Church of Truth) from 1986 to 1988. It was during her tenure that our current property was purchased and building plans began.
Her family sent out an an announcement with the following sentiment:
"In life she was simply beauty and truth, and truth is beauty and kindness. She cherished and loved above all her family. Nellie soared through the skies helping her husband, Wray, navigate while their dog Miss Prissy sat by her side. Her love for her family, friends, God, country and flying were boundless. Her accomplishments were many, from shore to shore. Of all her accomplishments it was her touch, given to those who knew her love, joy, wisdom and her beauty. Oh how sweet was her love and kindness. When you feel a warm, soft wind blow or see a bright star on a dark night, think of Nellie, for she is still here with us, forever. With a heavy heart, we will hold her now and yet let her go free."

 Peace is the Way: A New-View Course in Peacemaking & Peacekeeping  With Tom Zender

The course is based on Deepak Chopra's best-selling book, Peace is the Way, and will focus on seven practical ways to achieve inner and outer peace. This class is a part of Tom's current focus on raising the collective consciousness for sustainable world harmony and is a part of Unity of Tustin's 11 Days of Global Unity.
