ICM GENERAL MEETING FOCUSES ON "NURTURING OUR CHILDREN"
------------------------------------------------
The next ICM general meeting will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at the Druid Hills United Methodist Church at 1200 Ponce de Leon Avenue, Atlanta. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will focus on the topic of "Nurturing Our Children."
An exciting panel of guest speakers has been arranged for this general meeting:
- Judge Tom C. Rawlings, appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue as Georgia's Child Advocate, will speak on "Children in Foster Care."
- Dr. Lara Robinson, Healthy Parenting Fellow of the Centers for Disease Control's National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, will present from the topic "Children with Disabilities."
- DePriest Waddy, CEO of Prevent Child Abuse Georgia, will give the presentation on the "Prevention of Child Abuse."
In addition, ICM will be unveiling a new brochure that provides helpful information for parents, other caretakers of children and faith communities on nurturing children with disabilities, children with mental illness and abused and neglected children. There is also a section dedicated to nurturing our parents--who can be overwhelmed by their many responsibilities.
The April 21 meeting is designed to help all of us become better equipped to nurture our children. Please take advantage of this face-to-face time with persons who are dedicated to their well-being.
Please call 770-498-2141 or send an e-mail to info@interfaithchildrensmovement.org for more information and to RSVP for this rewarding event. We look forward to your presence. |

Spiritual Witness for Children |
One of the most important things faith communities can do for children is to pray for them.
Every child is a child of God and deserves justice and compassion. Every child deserves our prayers.
ICM encourages every faith community to become a spiritual witness for children. Hold a worship service in your church, synagogue, mosque or temple and invite others to join in praying for the well-being of all children. |
