Dre has been challenging the common misconceptions surrounding female folk music. Integrating jazz, funk, rock, soul and heaping helpings of talent, Dre is distinguishing herself from all the rest. Originally fearlessly taking the stage as a solo artist she honed the key skill of holding a room all on her own. So when Dre aligned with two of Sacramento's best praised musicians-Brent Wiggins (drums) and Jacob Israel Chilton (bass), performances grew from a starting point of engaging and memorable to absolutely awe-inspiring and unforgettable. |
| madras |
In the fall of 2006, Dan commenced work on a new LP, which would contain some material from the Dimestore Raves EP, along with those newly finished songs. For this go-round he would take a somewhat indulgent approach, playing bass, guitars and keyboards on all tracks, and drums on selected tracks. Dan would tap Madras guitarist Marc Thomas to put his singular textural signature on the record, and drummer Ryan Brown to cover rest of the rhythm duties. |

jack's castle |
Jack's Castle is an independent band from Melbourne, Australia. Their beginnings date back to early 2006 when a couple of dusty demo tapes, a few open mic nights and word of mouth saw them develop into one of the most popular bands on the local scene. Warm guitars, driving piano, quirky vocals and travelling song structures have shaped the quartet who built a loyal following upon the release of their debut- "The Lemon Tree EP". The band have taken a step up with the release of their follow up, "The Falling EP", creating a layered and passionate six-track that traces questions of direction, expectation and, of course, love and loss. |

suzanne samford |
Suzanne Samford is a female rocker that merits your full-on attention. Unlike so many of her predecessors she's able to rock out with the big boys. She does not hold anything back vocally as she pops and weaves through divergent melodies all the while clutching a wealthy vocal range. Her songs are also rich in guitar-based harmonies and it is wielded with a sense of pop-rock urgency. After listening to her highly enjoyable, yet madly schizophrenic record, you would not be surprised to hear that Suzanne has opened for Tori Amos in her time. |

orphan train project |
"Orphan Train Project - surprising twists and turns, I think they have got their pulse on the next thing." Listeners captivated by the complex pop structures and intricate layers of Orphan Train Project often mistakenly assume they are listening to a band. What they hear is a snapshot of a musical journey that I began fifteen years ago in the hills above Adelaide, South Australia. |
