Zina Kao
|
Zina Kao is another new jewelry artist at Handscapes Gallery.
In a misguided attempt to be frugal, Zina started making jewelry for herself. Soon stones, beads, metals, tools and jewelry of all kinds spilled from every container in Zina's craft room. Like all good hobbyists, the notion of saving money had long ago been abandoned. In due course, "making a few things for myself" expanded into making jewelry for family, then friends, then co-workers.
 | Sterling and 23k gold vermeil earrings |
At the time, Zina and her husband Wayne were working in the corporate world, but were looking for a change. In 2004, they left the corporate world behind and devoted their energy to making Zina's jewelry business a reality.
 | Oxidized sterling and 23k gold vermeil necklace |
Zina uses sterling silver. oxidized sterling silver, and silver covered in 23kt gold. Her designs are beautifully simple, using texture and contrasting metals to make an elegant statement. Click on any photo to see more of her work.
