Furry Friends
Chimi
Chimi is a corgi mix, about a year old and extremely cheerful and friendly. Bronwyn Llewellyn fell in love with her at an animal shelter. Bronwyn gave Chimi her name- which is a common nickname given to little girls in Bhutan, meaning "Small and Cute" and that fits her to a "T"!

Though she was born a country dog, Chimi took to a jet-setting lifestyle like a duck to water. First Durham, then DC, then in 2009 Chimi and Bronwyn headed off to Tanzania, in East Africa! Chimi got to go on lots of adventures in Tanzania, she hiked around the Udzungwa mountains and up into the Ulugurus, paddled around in the Indian ocean at South Beach, and even saw Elephants in Mikumi National Park. Currenty, Bronwyn is back in Washington DC, so Chimi now lives the life of one of the upscale Capitol Hill pets. DC's only a temporary stop though, Bronwyn is waiting on her posting as a foreign service officer somewhere else around the world, and you can be sure Chimi will be headed off too!
This summer you may find Chimi back in Beaufort, where she always insists on visiting her friends at Handscapes Gallery.

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.

In Memory..... Laura Drewyer
Our dear friend Laura Drewyer died tragically on May 8 while visiting in Scotland. She was a wonderful artist, but more than that, she was a wonderful person. We will miss her beautiful smile and her wisdom. Laura, we are all better people for having known you.
