Glenn GageGlenn Gage

The first you thing you notice about Glenn's hand thrown stoneware is its wonderfully vivid and highly saturated colors.  This is achieved by a heavy reduction firing and individual application of the colors.  The color is applied using a series of slips and stains under and on top of the celadon glaze. The layering process of the colors under the clear glaze adds depth to the finished pieces.

Glenn's hand painting gives a contemporary flare to the traditional forms.  The pottery is then high-fired in a reduction kiln to achieve the brilliant colors.  There are no leads or toxins in the glazes so the pieces are safe for use, combining function with beauty.
