Snow Ponies

Snow almost never happens in Beaufort.  Our February snowfall made us all happy, even the wild ponies on Carrot Island, caught in this photo by local photographer

Sea Stones

"Sea Stones LLC is based in Windham, New Hampshire, close to the rocky New England beaches and rivers that shape the stones we use in our designs.

Sea Stones bring the beauty of nature into homes, while still leaving our shores and forests unchanged.

 Sea Stones

We gather stones from private rivers and beaches, with permission. When a stone is collected, we want to make sure there will always be a replacement for future gatherers. So for each one harvested, a new stone (purchased from a quarry) is planted in the water. Over the years, the water tumbles the rough 'seed' into a smooth, rounded stone.

In the same spirit, hardwoods are supplied by responsible sawyers committed to conservation and the future of our forests. We also plant 10 times the number of trees we use each year for our backplates.

Bringing natural materials indoors as functional art keeps all of us in harmony with Mother Earth."

Birds and Flowers

Birds and flowers are the harbingers of Spring... so we thought we'd share some of our lovely bird and flower jewelry with you.

Nobody does flowers quite like Michael Michaud.  Michael is famous for his lovely botanicals.  Working closely with museums he has created beautiful nature designs like the Wisteria collection for the National Gallery of Art, Juniper for the Washington National Cathedral, Cherries for George Washington's Mount Vernon, and Resurrection Fern for the Historic Museum of New Orleans. Using a variety of materials, his collections are produced in bronze, sterling silver and gold metals, utilizing freshwater pearls, precious and semi precious stones, and hand formed glass beads.

Joseph Brinton designs are handcrafted in Portland, Oregon.  The earrings are brass, copper, aluminum, or nickel silver, with sterling silver or 14k gold filled earwires.  Many of Joseph's earrings are fun and whimsical, with birds, flowers,  and trees.
